The largest blockchain hackathon in the world
From April 5 till April 8 I participated a hackathon to change the world. 63 teams gathered together in Groningen to build and show how Blockchain technology can and will change the world as we know it.
Our team was part the ‘Digital Nation’s Infrastructure’ track, which was sponsored by the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (Kamer van Koophandel) and the Dutch land registry (Kadaster). We investigated to possibility to create a Know-Your-Customer (KYC) registry for businesses. This would make trade and commerce through blockchain currencies like Ethereum more legit. Furthermore, we identified the possibility to facilitate Initial Coin Offerings (ICO) and prevent invoicing fraud by letting companies search the registry as part of a customer background check.
After four intense days we ended up at the third place within our track.
